Measuring with a CNC-controlled coordinate measuring machine is a key aspect of designing and producing tools. Richardssons has a Mitutoyo Euro Premiere, which has a measurement area of 1000 x 900 x 750 mm. We also use this equipment for external measurement jobs. Normally we would measure a component and compare the measurement result against the relevant 3D model.
It is also possible to use the measuring machine equipment to scan “unknown" geometries so that the resulting digital data can then be translated into 3D CAD geometries.
